Trex IPTV Setup: Step-by-Step for Every Device
Getting Trex IPTV running is a matter of installing a player and typing in the login from your email. Find your device below and work down its step-by-step list from the top.
What you need before setting up Trex IPTV
Setting up Trex IPTV means entering your login into a player app. Before you begin, open the email titled 'Your Trex IPTV subscription is live' on your phone or computer, so the details are in front of you as you key them in on the TV.
That email gives you the same access in two forms. Use whichever one your app asks for:
- Xtream Codes login: a server address together with your username and password. Most player apps ask for this format.
- M3U playlist link: a single long web address that carries the whole channel list. Use it with apps that only ask for a playlist URL.
Logins are case-sensitive, so copy every character exactly, capital letters included. A few players on our list sign in differently, with a short activation code or by showing a device key; those players say on screen what they need, and support can match it to your order.
Trex IPTV apps to install
Every Trex IPTV app below is stored on trex-iptv.app itself, so a download starts straight away. The apps page lists the same files with their size, publish date, Downloader code and checksum.
- Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube: the Fire TV build, or any Android app from the list through Downloader.
- Android TV, Google TV, Android phones and tablets: TREX OTT, TREX IBO, TREX VIP, TREX PRO or another Android app from the list.
- Windows PC or laptop: the Windows app or the Trex player for Windows.
- Mac: the Mac app or the Trex player for macOS.
Amazon Fire TV Stick
Fire TV devices only install apps from the Amazon Appstore until you allow other sources, so the first job is to add a small free helper app called Downloader.
- On the Fire TV home screen, use Find or the search icon to look up Downloader, then install it.
- Open Settings and choose My Fire TV. If Developer Options is listed, open it. If it is missing, open About, highlight the name of your Fire TV and press the centre button on the remote about seven times until a message says you are now a developer, then go back one screen.
- Inside Developer Options, open Install unknown apps and switch it on for Downloader only.
- Open Downloader and enter the Downloader code shown next to the app on our apps page, or the app's address from that page, then press Go.
- Downloader shows an Install button once the file has arrived; press it, and press Done when the installer finishes. Downloader then offers to delete the installer file; accept, to free up space.
- Open the new Trex IPTV app and sign in with the details from your email.
Fire TV sticks have little free storage. If the install stops with a space warning, remove apps you no longer use or pick one of the lighter apps from the list. When the stick sits far from the router, a wired network adapter (sold separately for most models) often steadies playback more than any setting does.
Android TV and Google TV
Televisions and boxes running Android TV or Google TV can use the Trex IPTV apps from our apps page, or any player from Google Play that supports Xtream Codes or M3U.
- To use one of our apps, first install Downloader or a file manager from Google Play.
- Allow that app to install unknown apps. The switch is usually found under Settings, then Apps or Device Preferences, then Security & restrictions. On Google TV you may first need to turn on developer mode by pressing the Android TV OS build entry in Settings, System, About several times.
- Download the Android app you chose from the apps page, install it and open it.
- Sign in with the details from your email.
Every TV maker words these menus a little differently. If you cannot find the setting, use the search box in the TV settings and try the words unknown or security.
Samsung and LG smart TVs
Samsung televisions (Tizen) and LG televisions (webOS) cannot install Android apps, so the files on our apps page do not run on them. Install a player from the television's built-in app store instead.
- Open the Apps section on a Samsung TV, or the LG Content Store on an LG TV, and look for an IPTV app that can log in with Xtream Codes or load M3U playlists.
- Install and open it. Some players let you type your details on the TV; others display a device code and ask you to add the playlist on their website.
- Fill in the server address, your username and your password, or paste the M3U link if that is all the app asks for.
- If the app wants an activation fee of its own, that payment goes to the app's developer and is not part of your Trex IPTV plan.
Typing with a TV remote is slow, so check each character before saving. If the TV stands near your router, a network cable usually gives steadier playback than the built-in Wi-Fi.
iPhone and iPad
Apple devices only install apps from the App Store, so there is no file for them on our apps page. Pick an App Store player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists.
- In the App Store, pick an IPTV player whose description mentions Xtream Codes or M3U.
- Open it and choose the option to add a playlist, a login or a provider.
- Copy in the server address, username and password character for character from the email, or paste the M3U link.
- Give the app a moment to load the channel list the first time you open it.
Copy and paste saves time here. Open the email on the same iPhone or iPad, press and hold each detail to copy it, then paste it into the matching field in the app.
Android phones and tablets
On an Android phone or tablet you can install a Trex IPTV app straight from your browser.
- Open our apps page in your phone's browser and tap Download next to the Android app you want.
- When Android asks, allow the browser to install unknown apps, then return and tap Install.
- Open the app and sign in with the details from your email.
Prefer not to install anything from outside Google Play? Any Play Store player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U works with the same details.
Windows and Mac
On a Windows PC, download the Windows app or the Trex player for Windows from our apps page, run the installer and follow its steps. If Windows shows a protection warning, confirm the file came from our apps page and that its checksum matches before you continue, then sign in with your details.
On a Mac, open the Mac app or the Trex player for macOS from the apps page and drag it into Applications. Any other Mac player that accepts an M3U link or an Xtream Codes login works too; the free VLC media player can open the M3U link directly through File, then Open Network, although it shows a plain list rather than a programme guide.
Trex IPTV not playing after setup?
When nothing plays straight after setup, one small detail is usually to blame. Go down this list before contacting support:
- Check the server address. It should match the email exactly, with nothing added at the end.
- Retype the username and password, paying attention to capital letters.
- Look at the end date in your email. Once a line has expired, channels stop loading.
- Try one of the backup server addresses from the email. Your username and password work on all of them.
- Make sure only one device is playing on each login.
- Restart the device and the router, and use a network cable if you can.
Nothing on the list worked? Then the contact form is the next stop: give the order number, the device, the app name and what the screen shows.
